Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex by Eoin Colfer

Criminal Mastermind, Boy Genius, Fairies, Mental Illness, Love, Underwater Adventure

Artemis has developed the Atlantis Complex, a mental illness involving paranoia, fear of the number four, and multiple personalities, and he and his friends must find a way to save Atlantis from an unknown villain before Artemis himself goes crazy. The seventh in the series is just as funny, touching, and full of insane action as the other books, but Atlantis Complex Artemis is just not as much fun as devious Artemis. The underwater scenes are well depicted, and the dialogue between Butler and Juliet is spot-on. The backstory of the villain is fascinating and surprisingly touching. A must-read for fans of the earlier books.
